Whether you graduate in December or May, fall is the best time to take your graduation photos in College Station. Here's why I tell every Aggie I shoot with to book early.

1. No lines at the Admin Building.

In the spring rush, the Jack K. Williams Administration Building can have a wait of 30 minutes to an hour or more just to get your shot. Far more students graduate in May, and everyone wants the same landmarks at the same time. In October and November, that line is almost nonexistent, so we can move through your locations at our own pace and spend the time on your photos instead of waiting.

2. Softer light and comfortable weather.

Fall brings more cloud cover, which gives soft, even light that flatters everyone and works almost anywhere on campus. You won't be sweating through your outfit, squinting into harsh sun, or hunting for shade. Yes, you give up some golden hour glow on cloudy days, but overcast light lets us shoot anywhere, at any time of day, without harsh shadows. It beats the Texas heat of late spring and early summer.

3. More flexibility and faster delivery.

Fall weekends are less booked, so you get more choice of dates and times, and a lighter editing queue means you'll have your gallery sooner.
