Everyone loves to take photos at the Jack K. Williams Administration Building. It is an exceptional location because it perfectly encapsulates the Texas A&M experience, pairing stunning architectural structure with a student who is the proud product of the college system. Honestly, if you don’t take pictures here, did you really graduate from Texas A&M?
The Reality of the "Williams Rush"
I cannot emphasize enough how much people love this spot. Over the last few years, its popularity has exploded. It didn’t used to have a crazy line every single day, but now it does, especially in the evening, which is the most popular time for that golden-hour glow.
How long should you expect to wait? If you’re thinking 30 to 45 minutes, think again. If you arrive at 5:00 PM, you can expect to wait anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. It only gets busier as the semester goes on and more people realize they need to get their shots done.
My Pro-Tip for Aggie Grads
If you plan to take photos here, try to arrive by 4:00 PM. The line is significantly shorter then, which makes the whole experience much smoother. If your heart is set on having photos taken at 5:00 or 5:30 PM, you still need to arrive at least an hour early just to hold your spot in line as the sun goes down.
It’s awesome that this location is getting the love it deserves, but you have to be prepared for the crowd. Whenever I book a session, I try my best to arrive early so my clients don't have to spend their entire session standing in a line.
