In Texas it gets hot.

There is no getting around it, especially during the summer, and when it comes to taking photos outside it becomes a real challenge. Photos inside are okay but photos outside are usually the best. However, when the outside is baking over 100 degrees it makes everyone sweat and creates crazy intense exposure. How do you get around it?

The Golden Hours Are Your Best Friend

The best times for outdoor photos are either early in the day or later in the day during golden hour. Unless you want to bake like a cookie, these are your optimal times. The sun is not as hot, high, or intense during these parts of the day, making it the perfect time to shoot.

Do not get me wrong, it is nice to have plenty of light going around, especially if you have a shaded area. But when you know that the place you are going to does not have a dedicated covered space, that is when things get challenging. After doing plenty of weddings, graduations, and family shoots, I know this kind of weather is a major hurdle if it is not handled at the right time.

Look Good and Beat the Sweat

So, whenever you have a desire to take photos, plan for it to be earlier or later in the day. That way, everyone gets flattering lighting, the sun is not as crazy, and you won't need a second change of clothes because of all the sweat.

I have been a photographer in Bryan College Station for almost four years and I would love to take your photos. My name is Isaac Killgore and thank you for reading my blog.
