Finding Time
Photography has been an incredible journey for me, and I’ve been extremely blessed by it. Along with those blessings, however, come real challenges one of the biggest being how I manage my time. As a College Station / Bryan photographer, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to serve so many people in this community, but when a lot of work comes at once, it truly puts my time management skills to the test.
Serving the Bryan-College Station area through photography is something I don’t take lightly. Between shooting sessions, editing photos, responding to inquiries, and running the business side of things, my days can fill up quickly. During especially busy seasons, I’ve noticed that while I’m taking and editing photos, I sometimes miss out on being creative in new ways or pursuing Christ as intentionally as I should.
This isn’t a complaint just an honest observation of how I tend to handle busy seasons in my life. When things slow down, I’m able to invest more deeply in the things that matter most to me: creativity, reflection, and my relationship with Christ. But when things are busy, as you can imagine, those areas can get pushed aside if I’m not careful.
I’ve learned that awareness is key. The more I recognize where I fall short, the better position I’m in to surrender those areas to God and allow Him to work in them. Time management isn’t just a productivity issue for me it’s a faith issue. It’s a daily challenge to give that part of my life to God, to stop relying solely on my own abilities, and to trust Him rather than measuring success by how much I can personally accomplish.
At the end of the day, there really is no good excuse not to pursue Christ wholeheartedly especially when He is the one who makes everything happen in the first place. If I believe I can truly make a difference without Him, I’m only fooling myself. This realization continues to push me toward being more intentional, more efficient, and more grateful with the time I’ve been given.
Time is precious. I’m deeply thankful for the time I have and the ability to use it to serve others through photography in College Station and Bryan, Texas, and beyond. My prayer is that I continue to steward that time well not just to grow as a photographer, but to grow as a person and follower of Christ. If anything, this season is reminding me that finding time for the things that matter most isn’t about having less work it’s about having clearer priorities.
