Creating Over Consuming: A Personal Challenge
There are so many things fighting for your time and attention. Most of them are right in your pocket—on your phone. But it's not just that. Distractions come through your TV, your computer, and just about every piece of tech we use every day. With all the convenience technology brings, it also brings noise. And with that noise comes distraction—plain and simple.
I have goals now that I didn’t have before. These goals matter to me, and I’m thankful for them. It’s taken a long time to get to this point. And honestly, my use of social media and endless entertainment didn’t get me here. The only reason I’m here is because of the grace of God—and the gifts and talents He’s blessed me with. I'm incredibly grateful to be able to do photography, to make videos, and to step into a creative space that fuels something deeper than just getting likes or views.
Instead of constantly consuming, I’ve started focusing on creating. That shift didn’t come easy. It’s more of a challenge than anything else. So I ask: Why are you distracted? Do you even want to be? How much information, how much scrolling, is too much?
This is a process—a non-stop fight. It's a silent battle a lot of us are facing today. But there’s good news: God breaks those chains. He meets us in the noise and pulls us toward something better. He helps us focus on what really matters so we can do what we were made to do.
I still enjoy YouTube and Instagram—I really do. But there comes a point where too much is too much. Your time is precious. It’s not guaranteed. So what will you do with it?
If you’re in a place where you feel stuck or distracted, I get it. I’ve been there. But if you’re called to create, serve, or build something meaningful—whether it’s through photography, storytelling, or something else—make room for it. Take your time back. Use your gifts. And don’t be afraid to start small.
